15th Shaban Hadith

'O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting any month as much as Shaban.' He said: 'That is a month to which people do not pay much attention, between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are taken up to the Lord of the worlds, and I like that my deeds be taken up when I am fasting."'

The 15th night of Sha’ban is a night of exceptional importance in Islamic tradition. It is believed that on this night, Allah (swt) descends to the lowest heaven and forgives all the sins of those who ask for His forgiveness. According to a hadith, narrated by Imam Abu Dawud, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), the Prophet (SAW) said: “When the middle of Sha’ban comes, spend the night in prayer and fasting, for Allah (SWT) descends to the lowest heaven and forgives all the sins of those who ask for His forgiveness, except for those who have intentionally committed minor sins.”

The hadith also states that the 15th night of Sha’ban is a night of mercy and blessings and it is an opportunity to seek forgiveness for all the sins that have been committed. The Prophet (SAW) also said: “Whoever spends the night of the 15th of Sha’ban in prayer, out of faith and hoping for reward from Allah (SWT), all his previous sins will be forgiven.” It is therefore important for Muslims to spend this night in prayer, supplication and seeking forgiveness from Allah (SWT). It is a night of mercy, blessings and forgiveness and it is an opportunity to draw closer to Allah (SWT).
