The attahiyat is a dua (prayer) that is traditionally recited at the end of the salah (ritual prayer) as a way of expressing devotion and seeking Allah’s blessings. It is a series of phrases that are recited while sitting in the position of tashahhud, which is the final posture of the salah. The dua includes a declaration of the worthiness of all greetings, prayers, and good deeds to Allah, as well as a greeting of peace to the Prophet Muhammad and a request for Allah’s mercy and blessings.
