Dua For Opening Fast
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ
O Allah, for Your sake I have fasted, and now I break my fast with the food You have provided for me.
Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith 1856

Fasting is a form of spiritual practice that many Muslims engage in during the holy month of Ramadan. During this time, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other worldly pleasures from sunrise to sunset.
Fasting is an important part of the Islamic faith, as it is seen as a way to cultivate spiritual discipline, strengthen the connection to God, and increase empathy for the less fortunate. As part of the fasting experience, Muslims often recite special dua (prayers), which are prayers that ask Allah (God) for guidance, mercy, and spiritual fulfillment. These prayers are meant to help people focus on their faith and remember the importance of the fast.
The most common dua for fasting is the “Day of Fasting” prayer. This prayer is typically recited before the start of the fast and reads: “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from an evil end. I seek Your protection from all sins. I seek Your forgiveness for all my sins.” Another common dua for fasting is the “Eid Dua” prayer. This prayer is typically recited after the completion of the fast and reads: “O Allah! I thank You for the bounty and blessings You have bestowed upon me.
I ask You for the power of endurance, the strength of faith, and the joy of submission to Your will.” In addition to these two dua, Muslims may also recite other prayers for specific intentions such as to ask for forgiveness of sins, to seek guidance and protection, or to express gratitude for blessings.
Overall, fasting is an important part of the Islamic faith that helps believers cultivate spiritual discipline, strengthen their connection to God, and increase empathy for the less fortunate. Through the recitation of special dua, Muslims can focus on their faith and remember the importance of the fast.
