Istikhara Dua For Marriage

O Allah, I consult You as You are All-Knowing and I appeal to You to give me power as You are Omnipotent, and I ask You for Your great grace, for surely You are able to do things while I am not, and You know while I do not know, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter (name the matter) is good for me in my faith, my livelihood and the end of my affair (in this world and the hereafter), then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless me in it.
Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith #3889

Istikhara Dua For Marriage is a prayer that Muslims perform when they are seeking guidance from Allah (SWT) in making an important decision, such as whether to marry a certain person or not. The purpose of the prayer is to ask God to help them find the best and most suitable choice in their situation. It is important to note that Istikhara is not a means of predicting the future or making decisions for oneself. Rather, it is an act of submission and reliance on God. The Istikhara Dua for Marriage is typically recited once or twice a day for three consecutive days. It begins with the recitation of Surah AlFatihah, followed by the recitation of certain verses from the Quran, such as Surah AlBaqarah, Verse 185 and Surah AlImran, Verse 159. The prayer ends with the recitation of a special dua asking Allah to guide the person in their decision. After the prayer, the person should then meditate on their decision and wait for an answer from Allah. It is important to note that the Istikhara Dua for Marriage should not be used as a substitute for making an informed decision. Rather, it is a means of seeking divine guidance and should be used in conjunction with consultation with family and friends, as well as research into the situation. In this way, one can make sure that they are making the best decision for themselves and their future.
