Laylatul Qadr, or the Night of Power, is an Islamic holy night which occurs during the last ten days of Ramadan. It is believed to be the night that Allah revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whosoever stands (in prayer) during Laylatul Qadr with faith and hope will have all their past sins forgiven” (Sahih Bukhari).

This hadith highlights the importance of this night and encourages Muslims to seek forgiveness and pray during this blessed night. Laylatul Qadr is also known as the Night of Decree, as this is the night when Allah decides the fate of every person for the coming year. Every action we do in the coming year is predetermined by Allah on this night.

The importance of Laylatul Qadr is further emphasized by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said, “Whoever spends Laylatul Qadr in prayer out of faith and in expectation of reward will have all of his past sins forgiven” (Sahih Muslim). This hadith reminds us of the importance of spending this night in prayer and seeking forgiveness from Allah, as it is a night that is filled with blessings and mercy from Allah. It is a night that should not be missed by any Muslim, as it is a great opportunity to ask for forgiveness and gain Allah’s mercy.
